This tutorial shows how to 3D-model a traditional Norwegian wooden outdoor bench (rastebenk). We start with establishing a concept sketch on paper with main dimensions and a Bill Of Material (BOM) from available stock material. Based on the paper sketches, we continue with creating 2D sketches in the 3D-Modelling software and using Extrude create solids. Further we use Symmetry, Pattern and Mirror to copy geometry and save some work. This tutorial also aims at demonstrating the efficiency of the multi body modelling approach to 3D-modelling.
